Brujah (Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition)
The Brujah are the passionate rebels of the Camarilla, known for their fiery tempers and revolutionary spirit. Once philosophers and scholars in ancient Carthage, modern Brujah are often street fighters, activists, and anarchists who channel their rage into action. They value freedom, justice, and direct action over the political games of other clans. Brujah characters are typically combat-focused, using their supernatural speed (Celerity) and strength (Potence) to dominate physical confrontations. Their Presence allows them to inspire and lead, making them natural leaders of movements and gangs. However, their clan bane (the Fury) makes them prone to explosive outbursts of rage that can destroy relationships and plans.
How it works (mechanics)
**Clan Disciplines**: Celerity, Potence, Presence **Clan Bane - The Fury**: The Brujah subtract dice equal to their Bane Severity from any roll to resist fury frenzy. This makes Brujah far more prone to explosive outbursts of rage than other Kindred, and the Beast is never far from the surface. **Compulsion**: When your Compulsion triggers, you must act on your immediate emotional impulse, regardless of consequences. This often leads to violence, destruction, or confrontation. **Starting Disciplines**: Choose 3 dots among Celerity, Potence, and Presence (max 2 dots in any single Discipline at creation).
Practical tips
**Character Concepts**: Street fighter, revolutionary leader, biker gang member, activist, punk rocker, boxer, union organizer, anarchist philosopher. **Playstyle**: Brujah excel in physical combat and social manipulation through force of personality. They're excellent for players who want action-oriented characters with strong convictions. Consider pairing with Predator Types like Alleycat (combat-focused) or Siren (social manipulation). **Synergies**: Celerity pairs well with Potence for devastating physical attacks. Presence allows you to lead groups and inspire allies. Consider investing in Brawl, Melee, or Firearms for combat effectiveness.
