Tremere (Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition)
Tremere are the scholarly blood sorcerers of the Camarilla, known for their mastery of Blood Sorcery (formerly Thaumaturgy) and their hierarchical, secretive organization. They are often academics, researchers, and manipulators who use knowledge and magic to maintain power. Tremere characters excel at magic, research, and manipulation. Their Disciplines (Auspex, Blood Sorcery, and Dominate) make them excellent sorcerers, spies, and controllers. They can read auras, cast blood magic, and control minds. However, their clan bane — a consequence of the Fall of Vienna — means they can no longer create blood bonds, and bonding a Tremere requires additional drinks.
How it works (mechanics)
**Clan Disciplines**: Auspex, Blood Sorcery, Dominate **Clan Bane - The Broken Bond**: After the Fall of Vienna, the Tremere can no longer create blood bonds — their vitae simply does not bind others. Other vampires require one additional drink to bond a Tremere. This loss of the blood bond as a tool of control has shattered the old Pyramid hierarchy. **Compulsion**: When your Compulsion triggers, you must seek knowledge, perform research, or maintain the clan hierarchy. You become obsessed with learning secrets and may prioritize knowledge over immediate concerns. **Starting Disciplines**: Choose 3 dots among Auspex, Blood Sorcery, and Dominate (max 2 dots in any single Discipline at creation).
