Autofire (Cyberpunk RED)

Skills

Definition

Autofire is the specialized skill of firing weapons on full automatic—hosing down an area with bullets to suppress enemies, hit multiple targets, or just put an overwhelming volume of lead downrange. It's separate from the standard Shoulder Arms skill because firing on full auto is a fundamentally different discipline from aimed fire. Autofire uses your REF stat and covers suppressive fire and burst fire techniques. The primary tactical use is suppressive fire, which forces enemies to keep their heads down and take penalties, effectively controlling an area without necessarily hitting anyone. When you do want to hit things, Autofire lets you spray a zone and potentially damage everyone in it. The tradeoff is ammunition—full auto burns through bullets fast, and resupply in the middle of a job isn't always possible. Smart Autofire users know when to suppress and when to conserve.

How it works

**Linked Stat**: REF **Key Uses**: - Suppressive fire to pin enemies behind cover - Area attacks against multiple targets - Overwhelming single targets with volume of fire - Covering team movement with suppression **Additional**: Autofire uses a separate skill from Shoulder Arms. Suppressive fire forces targets to make checks or take penalties. Ammunition consumption is high.

Tips

**Build Advice**: Autofire is a specialized combat skill. If your team needs area denial and suppression, it's incredibly powerful. Not everyone needs it. **Synergies**: Works alongside Shoulder Arms for a complete ranged combat package. Pairs with Leadership for tactical coordination. **Character Concepts**: Heavy weapons specialist, military operator, gang war veteran, corporate security with squad tactics training.
