Conversation (Cyberpunk RED)
Definition
Conversation is the art of talking to people in a natural, engaging way—building rapport, putting them at ease, and steering discussions toward the information you need without them realizing they're being pumped for intel. It's social engineering at its most basic and most effective. Conversation uses your EMP stat and represents your ability to connect with people on a human level. While Persuasion pushes people toward a decision and Interrogation forces information out, Conversation is the subtle approach. You chat, you listen, you share stories, and somewhere in the flow of natural dialogue, people tell you things they wouldn't tell someone who was obviously probing. In Night City, where paranoia is a survival skill, the ability to seem genuinely friendly and interested can bypass defenses that aggression and pressure can't touch. Bartenders, neighbors, coworkers, and random strangers all have information—Conversation is how you get it without making enemies.

How is Conversation different from Persuasion?
Persuasion is actively trying to change someone's mind or behavior. Conversation is building rapport and extracting information through natural interaction. Persuasion pushes; Conversation draws out.
